Privacy Policy
Hull Online Group Ltd trading as Zergo. Effective 22 August 2026. Same policy applies to the website and apps.
Hull Online Group Ltd trading as Zergo (“Zergo”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data processed through https://zergo.uk and the Zergo Client and Driver apps. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and delete personal data. Contact: office@zergo.uk · https://zergo.uk/contact.
1. Introduction
- “You” means a website visitor, Client app user, or Driver app user.
- We collect and store the minimum information reasonably needed to provide the services you request (bookings, driver onboarding, payments, support) and to operate and improve the platform.
- Where required to fulfil a trip, selected information is shared with the assigned driver (and, where applicable, support / operations staff).
- We may update this policy by publishing a new version at https://zergo.uk/legal/privacy. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy. This edition is effective from 22 August 2026.
- We process personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. How we collect and use personal data
- Analytics data: IP address (or truncated IP), approximate location, browser/device type, OS, referral source, pages visited, and usage patterns. We may use analytics tools (for example Google Analytics or equivalent, subject to cookie consent where required). Legal basis: legitimate interests in improving the website and Service; consent where cookies/analytics require it.
- Account / customer data: name, email, phone, and (for clients) home address/city/region; for drivers also verification documents, vehicle details, selfie/photo, council city and licence number. Collected when you register or apply. Legal basis: contract performance and, where needed, legal obligation (licensing).
- Journey data: pickup/drop-off, schedule, route/stops, passenger counts, fare, status, flight/service references if you provide them, and trip messages. Legal basis: contract performance. Shared with the assigned driver as needed to perform the trip; we minimise sharing before a driver is committed to a job.
- Transaction data: Stripe customer and payment-method identifiers, authorisation/capture status, amounts, and invoice records. We do not store full card numbers, CVV, or full PAN. Payments are processed by Stripe. Legal basis: contract performance and legal obligation (tax/accounting). Fraud-prevention signals may be used by Stripe and/or us.
- Driver payout data: UK bank account details you provide for wallet withdrawals (clients do not see full account numbers). Legal basis: contract performance.
- Device / app data: push tokens, App Check / integrity signals, diagnostics, and crash logs. Legal basis: legitimate interests in security, reliability, and fraud prevention; contract performance for delivering the apps.
- Location data: when you grant permission — clients for map booking; drivers while online or on a job (dispatch, navigation, integrity). Legal basis: consent (device permission) and/or contract performance.
- Correspondence data: emails, contact-form messages, in-app support content, and related metadata. Legal basis: contract performance and legitimate interests in support and dispute handling. We avoid capturing full card details in correspondence.
- Legal claims / compliance: we may process data where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect vital interests.
3. Sharing
- Payment processing via Stripe (client card / Apple Pay / Google Pay). Driver wallet withdrawals are paid to your linked UK bank account by Zergo.
- Maps / location providers as needed for routes and navigation.
- Cloud infrastructure (Firebase / Google Cloud) in the UK/EU regions we configure.
- App distribution and integrity services (Google Play / Apple) as required to deliver the apps.
- Assigned drivers receive journey details needed to complete your trip.
- We do not sell your personal data.
4. Retaining and deleting personal data
- We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose collected, then delete or anonymise it, subject to legal retention.
- Analytics: non-identifiable analytics may be retained longer; identifiable analytics we control are kept only as long as needed for improvement (typically up to 1 month unless a longer period is required by the tool’s configuration disclosed at collection).
- Account / customer data: retained while your account is active and for up to 6 years after the end of the last relevant tax/accounting period following your last completed paid trip or payout, where needed for Finance Act / company record-keeping obligations; otherwise deleted earlier on verified account deletion where the law allows.
- Journey data: retained as needed for the Service and licensing / dispute handling (typically up to 1 year after trip completion unless a longer period is required for invoices, claims, or law).
- Transaction / invoice data: retained for up to 6 years from the end of the relevant financial year for tax and company law obligations.
- Correspondence: typically up to 18 months, except transactional notices retained with financial records as required.
- We may retain data longer where necessary for legal claims or a legal obligation.
5. Your rights
- Under UK GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or objection, and data portability where applicable, free of charge in most cases. We aim to respond within 30 days (extendable by up to two months for complex requests).
- We may need proof of identity (for example passport, driving licence, or utility bill) before fulfilling a request.
- Erasure may be limited where we must keep records for tax, licensing, fraud prevention, or ongoing disputes. Deleting data essential to an active booking may cancel that booking under our Terms.
- You may withdraw consent (for example location or marketing) in device or account settings; some features will stop working.
- You may lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
6. Account & data deletion
- If you create a Zergo Client or Driver account, you can request permanent account and data deletion.
- Web pathway (no login required): https://zergo.uk/legal/delete-account — submit the form or email office@zergo.uk with subject “Account deletion”.
- In-app pathway: Settings → Delete account.
- We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days.
- We delete profile data, payment-method references, driver documents tied to the account, trip messages, and push tokens where feasible.
- We may retain invoices, payment ledgers, and limited fraud/safety or regulatory records where UK law requires it. Freezing an account is not treated as deletion.
- Drivers should withdraw available wallet balance and clear pending payouts before deletion where applicable.
Start a request on the Delete account page (Google Play web resource), or email support@zergo.uk.
7. Children
- Zergo apps and website services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact office@zergo.uk so we can delete it.
8. Security
- We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and App Check / integrity signals where configured. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
